Texas Heritage Trails

SEPT 28 - OCT 21, 2018

It's time to sign up to participate in the annual Heritage Trails Travel Information booth at the Texas State Fair in Dallas.

We've partnered with the Texas Historical Commission to host a 10' x 40' booth full of travel information at the Fair.   The booth is located in the Food and Fiber Pavilion - an enclosed, air conditioned building which features products made in Texas.  It is one of the most popular venues at the fair.   Last year it was estimated that nearly one million people went through the building over the 3 weeks of the fair.

The booth is set up with several long tables and 3 large 3-sided display racks on the floor.  The information on the tables will contain the regional brochures from the various trails, as well as other THC materials, State Park Guides and Texas Maps. The information in the floor stands will be filled with our local partner's brochures. This is a great chance for you to get your information out in front of the traveling public!

You'll need to contact your Regional Director for details on how to have your brochures displayed at the fair.  Once, you've contacted them, you'll be sent the shipping information, and we will notify you if your brochure stock gets low so you can send more.

We hope you agree with us that the State Fair is FUN and it's a very worthwhile marketing opportunity.

How the Booth Works:

  • There are 2 shifts daily - 10am-2pm and 2pm-6pm
  • You may work either one long day or 2 half days
  • We will have hotel information available for you
  • Entrance to the Fair is FREE.
  • You will be responsible for your own food.
  • You will have the chance to take a break and look around.
  • Volunteers will stay in the booth and answer questions - you need to keep in mind that this is a general travel booth, so you will need to be prepared to get questions on just about anything (don't worry, you are not expected to know the answers to everything!).
  • When traffic in the booth is slow, you will need to evaluate the brochure stock and refill the racks as needed.
